At 10 am today, on the 14th of September 2024, the Gumball 3000 2024 world supercar journey will officially take place, and more than 8 hours earlier, dozens of car enthusiasts had gathered in Di An, Binh Duong province, where more than 100 supercars of the crew are parked.
The beautifully-wrapped Ferrari 296 GTB and Rolls-Royce Cullinan were the first to appear, followed by dozens of other supercars being driven out of the warehouse and transported to Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the world’s largest supercar event this morning.
Car enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the appearance of the Koenigsegg Regera, Pagani Huayra BC Roadster, and Porsche Carrera GT, along with dozens of other supercars. As for the Bugatti Chiron and Chiron Super Sport, they will be driven into Vietnam by Cambodian businessmen later today.
The Ferrari 296 GTB is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, featuring a 2.9-liter V6 gasoline engine with turbocharging. The internal combustion engine generates a maximum output of 654 horsepower, while the electric motor adds another 164 horsepower.
The maximum torque provided by the internal combustion engine and the electric motor for the 296 GTB is 425 Nm and 315 Nm, respectively. The plug-in hybrid system will give the Ferrari 296 GTB a combined output of 818 horsepower and 740 Nm of peak torque.
The Ferrari 296 GTB supercar accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 330 km/h. Plug-in hybrid vehicles like the 296 GTB can travel up to 25 kilometers and reach a maximum speed of 135 km/h on electric power alone.
The Ferrari 296 GTB retains the eManettino feature with driving modes such as eDrive, Hybrid, Performance, and Qualify, as well as the familiar Manettino settings including standard, sport, race, CT off, and ESC off.
The highlight of the Gumball 3000 supercar journey in Vietnam, taking place over two days on the 14th and 15th of September, will be the opening of the Gumball Grid – dubbed the “world’s most expensive car park” – at 10 am on Saturday, 14/09/2024.
Le Loi boulevard in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, will become a showcase for 100 supercars, many of which are unique models rarely seen in the world. In addition, 16 supercars from Trung Nguyen will also be on display.
At 11 am on September 15, 2024, the Gumball 3000 journey will officially commence after the flag-off ceremony, marking the beginning of the first leg of the journey from Le Loi Avenue to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels. On the same day, the crew will move on to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and continue their route to Angkor Wat, Cambodia, Bangkok, and Krabi, Thailand. The journey will then take them to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, before concluding in Singapore on the 21st of September, 2024.

For the upcoming Gumball 3000 rally, the Ferrari squad is an impressive force with seven 458 and 488 models in attendance. Aside from the previously mentioned high-performance duo of the 458 Speciale and the 488 Pista Spider, there will be other stunning iterations of these iconic models on display.

But that’s not all; the event will also play host to a green Rolls-Royce Cullinan, two mysterious Lamborghini supercars hidden under covers, and a Land Rover Defender. It promises to be an exciting gathering of automotive excellence.
