The eye-catching blue Ferrari 488 GTB, owned by Vietnamese tycoon Huy Dang, was a standout at the Gumball 3000 event. The car’s striking appearance is enhanced by accents made from carbon fiber.

The 2024 Gumball 3000 event, starting in Ho Chi Minh City, gathered over 100 supercars and sports cars, including rare and unique models from around the world.

This is the first time the world’s largest supercar rally, Gumball 3000, has been held in Southeast Asia, passing through five countries: Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. This year’s event also marks the 25th anniversary (1999-2024) of this festival dedicated to automotive enthusiasts. Furthermore, in the wake of the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi, the organizers of Gumball 3000 announced fundraising campaigns to support the people of the northern provinces in overcoming post-flood challenges.

Among the cars participating in Gumball 3000, there were at least two Ferrari 488s. The first one belongs to the “coffee king” Dang Le Nguyen Vu, and the other is owned by a young tycoon named Huy Dang.

Introduced to the global market in 2015 and quickly arriving in Vietnam in early 2016, the Ferrari 488 attracted special attention from car enthusiasts at that time, despite its high price. As of now, more than 20 units have been imported into the country, including the standard and Pista high-performance versions.

While Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu’s 488 is wrapped in white decal, Huy Dang’s car stands out with a dark blue tone, complemented by characteristic cut lines that showcase the owner’s sporty, bold, and youthful style.

This supercar is fitted with five-spoke black-painted rims featuring the Ferrari logo in the center, along with large ceramic brakes and striking yellow brake calipers.

The Ferrari 488 GTB is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces a maximum of 661 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque. It uses a rear-wheel drive system paired with a 7-speed Getrag dual-clutch automatic transmission. As a result, the Italian supercar can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h.
