Kia Vietnam recently teased the new design of the 2024 Carnival in a video, building anticipation for its launch.
The Kia Carnival 2024 is scheduled to enter the Vietnamese market in September and has already arrived at select dealerships, with deliveries expected to begin in October.
The video reveals subtle refinements to both the exterior and interior of the Kia Carnival 2024.
The front of the vehicle features the distinctive “tiger nose” grille, now accented with a chrome trim outline. The new vertical LED headlights are paired with a stylized T-shaped daytime running light signature. Fog lights are positioned on either side of the central air intake, alongside electric sliding doors and a redesigned rear bumper.
At the rear, the standout feature is the 3D Starmap LED taillights that stretch across the width of the vehicle and down onto the rear bumper. The redesign of the taillights, along with adjustments to the bumper and trunk lid, creates a more harmonious overall look.
Inside the cabin, the Kia Carnival 2024 boasts a modern layout with a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen and a matching fully digital instrument cluster, forming a seamless dual-screen setup. Additionally, the vehicle offers a head-up display (HUD) for easy access to key information.
The climate control panel has been redesigned for a neater and more user-friendly experience. The gear selector area has also been revamped, now featuring a rotary dial. Other notable features include a dashcam, smart key, and digital rearview mirror.
In other markets, the Carnival offers ergonomic seats upholstered in premium leather, equipped with heating, cooling, and massage functions.
In terms of safety, the Carnival 2024 is expected to introduce the Highway Driving Assistance 2 system, providing advanced driver-assistance features. This includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic lane changing, enhancing the driving experience on highways.
According to dealership sources, the Kia Carnival 2024 will no longer offer the previous 3.5L gasoline engine option. Instead, it will be powered by two different engine choices.
The first is a 2.2L Smartstream CRDi 4-cylinder DOHC diesel engine, producing 199 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The second option is a hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 6-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers a combined output of 245 horsepower and 366 Nm of torque, with a fuel efficiency rating of 13.5 km/l (7.4 l/100 km) as claimed by the manufacturer.
