The Audi R8 of Khoa Sen, a prominent Vietnamese fashion CEO, also garnered attention at the Gumball 3000 event in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Gumball 3000 supercar journey, a first for Vietnam, has captivated the nation’s car enthusiasts in recent days. Aside from the main attraction of 100 supercars participating in a 3,000-kilometer rally from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore, several other vehicles on the sidelines of the event also caught the audience’s eye. One such car was the Audi R8 owned by Khoa Sen, CEO of a renowned fashion brand in Vietnam.
The Audi R8 is a supercar beloved by many Vietnamese enthusiasts, associated with notable figures such as businessman Nguyen Quoc Cuong (Cường Đô-la), singer couple Dong Nhi and Ong Cao Thang, and “coffee king” Dang Le Nguyen Vu, among others.
Derived from the Audi Le Mans quattro concept in 2003, the Audi R8 made its debut at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. It was the first mass-produced car in the world to feature LED technology in its headlight system.
Audi R8 boasts a hexagonal-shaped grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern, accompanied by sharp LED headlights and two small honeycomb mesh air intakes below. The rear showcases a host of sporty elements, including a rear bumper, a large splitter, a dual exhaust system, and carbon fiber components such as mirror caps, air intakes, a rear wing, and a robust rear diffuser.
This Audi R8 V10 Plus features 20-inch multi-spoke gold-colored rims that perfectly complement the red exterior. Additionally, the owner has equipped the car with carbon-ceramic brakes and gray-colored calipers.
Powering the Audi R8 V10 is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 FSI engine, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, producing 602 horsepower. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, 20% quicker than its predecessor, and reach a top speed of 330 km/h. These impressive figures are also attributed to the supercar’s new chassis, which is 40% stiffer and 15% lighter than the previous model, featuring an integrated body and chassis construction and extensive use of carbon fiber reinforcement.
