The purchase of a million-dollar Aston Martin Valhalla supercar by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, Chairman of Trung Nguyen, has garnered significant attention from car enthusiasts and other enthusiasts. This story was revealed by the “King of Coffee” to our exclusive source in an intriguing conversation back in August 2022.

And time flies! It’s been over two years since then, and Vietnam’s largest car collector has shared intriguing insights about the Aston Martin Valhalla during a serendipitous encounter in mid-September. “When I bought this Aston Martin Valhalla supercar, the manufacturer confirmed a limited production run of 88 vehicles, contrary to the 999 units mentioned in the media,” he emphasized.

“I’m not that obsessed with supercars, but since we’re on the topic, I’ll shed some light on why this particular Aston Martin Valhalla hasn’t arrived in Vietnam yet. The manufacturer encountered some unforeseen issues, which delayed the production and fine-tuning of the vehicle,” Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu implied that the Aston Martin Valhalla is unlikely to arrive in Vietnam this year.

“They invited me to visit their factory and see their operations, but I politely declined, mentioning that this particular Aston Martin Valhalla would cost nearly 100 billion VND when imported to Vietnam,” Mr. Vu shared with our exclusive source. Furthermore, the pioneer in Vietnam’s coffee industry revealed that the manufacturer plans to produce only 86 Aston Martin Valhallas for customers, keeping the other two for display purposes.

This news might come as a disappointment to many car enthusiasts, as it seems that Mr. Vu’s Aston Martin Valhalla won’t be arriving in Vietnam anytime soon. Even if the manufacturer brings a display model to introduce to the local media, the chances of that happening are slim.

In foreign markets, the Aston Martin Valhalla supercar was initially announced with a starting price of $800,000. However, given the limited production run of 88 vehicles as shared by Mr. Vu, it is likely that additional attractive features have been included, driving up the final price of the car to nearly 100 billion VND when imported to Vietnam.

The Aston Martin Valhalla supercar boasts a new PHEV powertrain, featuring a mid-rear-mounted, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine combined with two electric motors. This setup delivers a staggering 937 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque.

The Aston Martin Valhalla is equipped with an exclusive 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, specifically developed and manufactured for Aston Martin’s hybrid vehicles. It also features an electronic limited-slip differential at the rear axle and an electric reverse function, allowing the car to be driven in reverse using only the two electric motors. With this powerful setup, the Valhalla accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 330 km/h.

Once it arrives in Mr. Vu’s garage, it will be one of the few supercars with a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) system. Mr. Vu also mentioned that he’s not a big fan of the recent addition of electric motors to Ferrari models, as it takes away from the traditional appeal and can lead to potential issues if the car is not regularly driven. Currently, the only hybrid supercar in his collection is the Porsche 918 Spyder.
