This has led to an increase in the number of luxury and sports cars sporting exclusive license plates such as quintuples, quadruples, dragon pairs, and special pairs.
Recently, a pre-owned Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster caught the attention of automotive enthusiasts in Hanoi when its owner, a luxury car showroom owner, drove it through the city with the distinctive license plate 30K-799.99.
Prior to this, the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster bore a Ho Chi Minh City license plate, and despite changing ownership earlier this year, the license plate remained unchanged. There were even rumors that the new owner, reportedly a female celebrity, had only rented the car for a temporary experience. However, the Lamborghini now sports a Hanoi license plate, indicating a change in ownership.
According to the current owner, a luxury car showroom owner in Hanoi, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster is now priced at 22 billion VND, making it the most expensive pre-owned Lamborghini Aventador in Vietnam.
Interestingly, the car was initially advertised for 17 billion VND but failed to attract a buyer. Now, with the prestigious license plate 30K-799.99, the showroom has raised the price to 22 billion VND, implying that the license plate alone is valued at 5 billion VND.
The license plate 30K-799.99 is indeed special, having been auctioned not once but twice. The first auction took place on December 26, 2023, between 10:15 and 10:45, with the highest bid reaching 4.03 billion VND. However, the winning bidder failed to complete the necessary procedures and forfeited a 40 million VND deposit. Six months later, on April 11, 2024, the license plate was auctioned again, this time fetching a high bid of 1 billion VND.
The appeal of the license plate 30K-799.99 lies not only in the quadruple 9s but also in the combination of 7 and 9, which symbolizes great wealth, and the triple 9s, representing longevity. This unique combination led to the final auction price of 1 billion VND, after which the license plate was acquired by the owner of a pre-owned car showroom in Hanoi and assigned to his Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster stands out from its coupe counterpart with its dark-toned carbon fiber roof panels. These panels are designed as two separate pieces for easy removal when desired. Each roof panel weighs approximately 6 kg and is secured by a latch located behind the driver’s seat. The front luggage compartment serves as storage for the roof panels when not in use. Additionally, the Roadster version features a small rear window behind the seats.
Under the hood, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster boasts a 6.5-liter V12 engine that delivers 690 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 690 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. This powerful engine is paired with a 7-speed ISR automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h. The car has also been fitted with an aftermarket exhaust system in the past.
