The Gumball 3000 2024 supercar journey features some extremely expensive cars, making their first appearance in the Vietnamese market. However, there are also several models that leave local enthusiasts with a sense of disappointment, reminding them of unhappy memories. These are a pair of Lamborghini Huracan versions: the Performante and the EVO.

The Lamborghini Huracan Performante, which arrived at Hai Phong port in 2020, and the Lamborghini Huracan EVO, which graced the streets of Ho Chi Minh City in 2022, ultimately had to leave Vietnam as they couldn’t find buyers or get registered in the country.

While the high-performance Lamborghini Huracan Performante imported to Hai Phong port four years ago was yellow, the one that joined the Gumball 3000 2024 in Vietnam sports a white exterior with black accents and eye-catching carbon fiber details, reducing the car’s weight by approximately 40 kg compared to the standard version.

The Lamborghini Huracan Performante stands out from the standard model with distinct features such as the front air intake, front bumper, side skirts, and a fixed rear wing. Its exhaust pipes are positioned higher.

The Lamborghini Huracan Performante retains the standard model’s 5.2-liter V10 engine but has been tuned to deliver a maximum output of 640 horsepower and 600 Nm of peak torque. These figures represent a 30 horsepower and 40 Nm increase over the standard version.

This high-performance supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, 0.3 seconds quicker than the standard model, and can reach 200 km/h in 8.9 seconds before topping out at 325 km/h.

On October 5, 2016, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante set a record at the challenging Nurburgring race track, completing the course in just 6 minutes and 52.01 seconds.

On the other hand, the Lamborghini Huracan EVO that joined the Gumball 3000 2024 is a convertible, differing from the coupe version imported by Phan Cong Khanh, which couldn’t be registered and is now stored in a warehouse awaiting re-export.

The most noticeable difference between the Lamborghini Huracan Evo convertible and the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder is the redesigned front end, which gives it a unique character. The entire rear end is made of carbon fiber, and the exhaust pipes remain positioned high. It features a new, sporty diffuser, and notably, the fixed rear wing present on the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder is absent on the Lamborghini Huracan Evo convertible.

One significant convenience of the Lamborghini Huracan Evo convertible is that even with the top up, the driver can still enjoy the sound of the engine and the wind rushing by through a small window that can be opened with the push of a button. Of course, the convertible top can be operated while the car is in motion, but only at speeds below 50 km/h.

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder, the convertible version of the Lamborghini Huracan Evo Coupe, is powered by the same 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, producing 640 horsepower and 600 Nm of peak torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, just 0.2 seconds slower than the coupe but 0.3 seconds faster than the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder.

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder takes approximately 9.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 200 km/h and has a top speed of 325 km/h. There are no power upgrades in the Lamborghini Huracan Evo convertible’s engine compared to the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder, which is a letdown for enthusiasts.

The most noticeable difference between the Lamborghini Huracan Evo convertible and the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder is the redesigned front end, which gives the Evo a unique and characterful appearance. The entire rear end of the Evo is crafted from carbon fiber, and just like the Performante Spyder, it features high-mounted exhaust pipes. However, the Evo does away with the fixed rear wing, opting for a more sleek and streamlined look.

On the side of the car, you’ll find the Huracan Evo badge along with the Italian flag. Similar to the coupe version, the Huracan Evo Spyder is equipped with a four-wheel steering system, previously seen on the Lamborghini Aventador S and Lamborghini Urus in Vietnam. This system works in conjunction with a torque vectoring system for the all-wheel drive.
