According to multiple sources, the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to launch in the US later this year with a host of differences in design and engine options compared to its current iteration. Leaked spy shots of the 2025 Tiguan are predicted to look identical to the Tayron L sold in the Chinese market.

The US-bound 2025 Tiguan is produced by the FAW-VW joint venture, thus bearing little resemblance to its European counterpart, except for some design cues. If identical to the Chinese Tayron L, the 2025 Tiguan will have dimensions of 4,684 x 1,854 x 1,685 mm (length x width x height), with a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. The R-Line version extends the length to 4,695 mm due to a tweaked bumper.

The most noticeable change at the front is the repositioning of the headlights, which are now placed higher, closer to the hood, and connected by a thin chrome strip with the brand’s logo in the center. The grille features a large, honeycomb design, flanked by air intakes with chrome-accented horizontal slats.

The rear of the 2025 Tiguan will be more striking, with a mesh-like bumper and vertical LED taillights, giving it a sportier appearance. The profile is enhanced by subtle character lines and body-colored side skirts, adding a touch of elegance.

Built on the MQB Evo platform, similar to other Volkswagen models like the Passat, the 2025 Tiguan will offer three engine options, according to documents filed with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). These include a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 158 horsepower and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine offering either 184 or 217 horsepower, depending on the configuration.

Additionally, when launched in the US, the 2025 Tiguan is expected to introduce mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid engine options. While specific details about the US hybrid models are scarce, their European counterparts produce a combined 268 horsepower and offer an all-electric range of 100 km thanks to a 19.7 kWh battery pack.

According to Carscoop, the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is slated for a Q4 launch in the US. Some sources even suggest that the model could make its way to Europe, replacing the Tiguan Allspace.
