**South Korean Auto Giant Hyundai Reaches a Historic Milestone: 100 Million Vehicles Produced**

Hyundai Motor Company, a renowned South Korean automotive manufacturer, celebrated a significant achievement on September 30th as it rolled out its 100 millionth vehicle, marking a historic moment in its 57-year journey.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, Hyundai held a special ceremony at its Ulsan plant in South Korea. During the event, the company’s leadership personally handed over the symbolic 100,000,001st vehicle, an Ioniq 5, to its proud owner.

Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, expressed his gratitude by saying, “Reaching the global cumulative production of 100 million units is a meaningful milestone, and we are thankful to our customers worldwide who have chosen and supported Hyundai Motor since its early days.”

Hyundai’s journey began in 1968, a year after its establishment, when it assembled its first car, the Cortina, at the Ulsan plant. This very plant is considered the birthplace of South Korea’s automotive industry, and today, it also houses a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) production facility.

Hyundai’s presence extends far beyond South Korea, with manufacturing facilities in Turkey, India, the United States, and the Czech Republic. The company has consistently achieved impressive milestones, reaching 50 million vehicles produced by 2023, 80 million by 2019, and 90 million by 2022.

In 2023, Hyundai established the Hyundai Motor Group Singapore, a global innovation center dedicated to developing artificial intelligence, robotics, and smart factory technologies. These innovations are expected to be implemented in future manufacturing plants, such as the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America currently under construction in the state of Georgia, USA.
