The Ultimate McLaren: Unveiling the Beastly W1 Hypercar with an Unmatched 50 Billion VND Price Tag

Following the success of the F1 and P1, McLaren has recently unveiled its newest speedster, the W1. This hypercar is designed to succeed the McLaren P1, which was introduced in 2013 and ceased production in late 2015.

The McLaren W1 incorporates technologies derived from the McLaren F1 racing team’s vehicles, notably the hybrid system developed for the MCL38.

Specifically, this system comprises a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine paired with an electric motor, generating a staggering 1,258 horsepower and 1,340 Nm of torque. The electric motor alone produces 347 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. The integrated 1.384 kWh battery supports fast charging, enabling an 80% charge in just 22 minutes. Accompanying this potent engine is an 8-speed DCT transmission with an electric E-reverse function.

These specifications firmly establish the W1 as the most powerful car in McLaren’s lineage, surpassing even the revered P1.

With its exceptional power, the McLaren W1 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.7 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h.

Aside from its formidable engine, the McLaren W1 captivates supercar enthusiasts with its distinctive design, featuring bold and dynamic lines. It is the first British car to introduce gullwing doors, not only enhancing its visual appeal but also optimizing its aerodynamic performance.

The rear of the W1 showcases the “McLaren Active Long Tail” aerodynamic wing, inspired by the legendary 1997 McLaren F1 GTR. According to the manufacturer, this system can generate downforce of up to 1,000 kg, ensuring exceptional stability at high speeds.

The car is fitted with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, complemented by McLaren Carbon Ceramic Racing+ brakes painted in a striking orange color.

As a hypercar focused on delivering an unparalleled speed experience, the McLaren W1 features a minimalistic interior with essential amenities to optimize space and weight. This special model boasts a carbon fiber Aerocell cockpit with seats fixed directly to the chassis. The rectangular steering wheel employs hydraulic power steering to provide the most authentic driving feel.

Similar to other limited-edition McLaren supercars, the W1 will be produced in a limited run of 399 units worldwide, carrying a starting price of approximately $2.1 million, equivalent to over 50 billion VND.
