September 2024 marked the implementation of the government’s decree to reduce registration fees for domestically produced and assembled vehicles, which provided a boost to the Vietnamese automotive market. This supportive policy contributed to the growth of the automotive market in the past month, as reflected in the sales performance of Hyundai models.
According to the announcement by the Thanh Cong Group (TC Group), the total sales of Hyundai vehicles in September 2024 reached 6,518 units, representing a 39.3% growth compared to the previous month. This remarkable achievement can be attributed to the strong performance of popular models such as the Hyundai Accent, Creta, and Santa Fe.
Specifically, the best-selling Hyundai model in September 2024 was the Hyundai Accent, with sales of 1,290 units, reflecting a 37.7% increase. Following closely in second place was the Hyundai Creta, with 1,068 units sold, demonstrating a significant 74.2% growth.
The third position was held by the Hyundai Santa Fe, with sales of 758 units, an impressive 48.3% increase. During September 2024, this mid-sized SUV underwent a generational update, introducing robust improvements in design, equipment, and engine performance. Consequently, it is no surprise that the Hyundai Santa Fe outsold its predecessor in the previous month.
Ranking fourth in the Hyundai family was the Grand i10, with a growth rate of 81%, amounting to 561 units sold. The Hyundai Tucson secured the fifth position, recording sales of 495 units, a 16.5% increase. Hyundai Venue followed closely with 482 units sold, representing a substantial 62.3% growth.
Next in line was the Hyundai Stargazer, with a sales growth of 14.9%, totaling 433 units. Just behind the Stargazer was the Hyundai Custin, which achieved a remarkable 39.2% growth, resulting in sales of 302 units.
The remaining Hyundai models also exhibited positive growth, including the Elantra (179 units, a 35.6% increase) and the Palisade (163 units, a 59.8% increase). Meanwhile, Hyundai’s commercial vehicles recorded sales of 777 units in September, a 2.5% increase compared to August. Among these, 70 units of the Hyundai Mighty LT 2.5 tons and Solati were exported to foreign markets.
