MINI Unveils Its First All-Electric High-Performance Models: John Cooper Works Electric and John Cooper Works Aceman
The MINI John Cooper Works Electric is a sleek 3-door hatchback, while the John Cooper Works Aceman is a more practical and taller 5-door crossover. Both models are based on the Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) gasoline engine variant.
Under the hood, both vehicles are powered by an electric motor delivering 255 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, paired with front-wheel drive. This setup enables the hatchback to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the crossover does the same in 6.4 seconds.
To enhance the driving experience, MINI has equipped the John Cooper Works Electric and the Aceman with a “boost” feature, temporarily increasing power by 27 horsepower. The vehicles also benefit from high-performance brakes and tires with improved grip.
Compared to their internal combustion engine counterparts, these high-performance electric vehicles feature subtly refined exteriors. The 3-door hatchback, the John Cooper Works Electric, sports 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Aceman crossover boasts 19-inch wheels. Both models display an abundance of logos, and the hatchback features a checkered flag pattern on the rear doors.
Inside the cabin, both vehicles showcase a bold red and black color scheme. The seats are upholstered in synthetic leather with multi-colored woven fabric and contrasting red stitching.
MINI plans to showcase these exciting new models at the upcoming 2024 Paris Motor Show, offering visitors a chance to admire them up close.
