Kia Sets Official Launch Date for All-New Tasman Pickup

Kia has recently announced the official launch date for its all-new pickup truck, the Tasman.

The Kia Tasman will make its debut on October 29, 2024, at the Jeddah Motor Show in Saudi Arabia.

Along with the launch announcement, Kia also revealed a teaser image, giving us a glimpse of the vehicle’s design. The Kia Tasman boasts a rugged and robust appearance, characteristic of a pickup truck, with its square-shaped body.

At the rear, the vehicle sports new LED taillights, accompanied by a large Kia logo and an intriguing Tasman badge.

Details about the powertrain options remain undisclosed, but Kia Australia had previously suggested that the Tasman will offer a diesel engine, possibly the 2.2L CRDi turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in some of the brand’s current models.

In the future, an all-electric version is expected to join the lineup, exclusively offering a two-row seat configuration with an estimated range of 400 kilometers.

Kia has confirmed that the Tasman will be available in at least two configurations: a single-cab with one row of seats and a double-cab with two rows. There’s also a possibility of a high-performance variant to rival the Ranger Raptor.

Based on a short video shared on social media earlier, the interior of the Kia Tasman appears similar to the EV9. It features a modern dashboard with two seemingly identical 12.3-inch screens. Below the central infotainment screen lies a row of buttons for controlling essential functions.

The Tasman’s steering wheel resembles the one found in the Kia K4. Additionally, the vehicle will offer a sunroof, a rare feature in pickup trucks.

Following its debut in the Middle East, the Kia Tasman is expected to be introduced in other markets during the first half of 2025.
