The Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2024 kicked off this morning, October 23, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
This year’s exhibition features a total of 19 automotive and motorcycle brands, along with nearly 300 booths from auxiliary industries. Among the participating automotive brands, MG, a British brand with a long history, now owned by Chinese state-owned Nanjing Automobile since 2005, stands out.
At VMS 2024, MG showcased an impressive lineup of vehicles, including the D90, G50, M7, and the eye-catching sports car, Cyberster.
Only 100 units of the MG Cyberster will be available in the Vietnamese market, and the announced price of 3.2 billion VND has left many stunned, as it is nearly three times the price of the car in China. This is quite unusual, as Chinese-made cars sold in Vietnam are typically only twice the price of those in their home market.
The VMS 2024 exhibition will be open to the public from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm on October 23, and from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on October 24-27. Visitors can purchase tickets online or at the venue for 30,000 VND per person.
The BYD Stand at VMS 2024: A Showcase of Automotive Might, Headlined by the 1,180-hp YangWang U8.
The BYD YangWang U8 is an extraordinary vehicle with a unique set of features. With its ability to spin 360 degrees, move sideways like a crab, and its submarine-like capability to float and rise above water, this vehicle offers a fun and exciting driving experience. But all these amazing features come at a cost, as the U8 is priced at a hefty 3.2 billion VND in China.
