Standing out among the impressive lineup that BYD brought to the 2024 Vietnam Motor Show is the MPV dubbed the “Toyota Alphard of China,” the Denza D9.

The Denza D9 is available in two variants in the Chinese market: the hybrid DM-i and the all-electric version. The model on display at the show is the DM-I hybrid variant.

The vehicle boasts a massive presence with its dimensions: 5,250 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, 1,920 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. These measurements even surpass those of the Toyota Alphard.

The front of the Denza D9 impresses with its massive grille that seamlessly connects with the LED headlights. Below the headlights is a thick chrome strip that extends to the fog lights, forming a C-shaped structure.

From the side profile, the BYD Denza D9 features chrome-accented window lines and D-pillars, chrome-trimmed door sills, roof rails, and door handles, adding a touch of elegance to this MPV. Similar to other MPVs in the market, the Denza D9 is equipped with electrically adjustable sliding doors. It rides on a set of multi-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels.

At the rear, the BYD Denza D9 presents a neat appearance with its LED taillights stretching across the full width of the tailgate. The trunk is divided by a character line that extends from the sides. A large roof spoiler and a chrome strip on the rear bumper complete the look.

In terms of interior, the D9’s cabin is packed with modern conveniences, including seven displays, such as a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, and a head-up display (HUD).

Additionally, it features a refrigerator positioned between the front seats and a 10-way adjustable second-row seat, ensuring a comfortable and luxurious experience for its occupants.

Under the hood, the Denza D9 DM-i is powered by a hybrid system that combines a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor.

The front-wheel-drive version can travel up to 190 km on pure electric power and up to 1,040 km when combined with the gasoline engine. The all-wheel-drive variant offers slightly different figures, with 180 km on electric power and 970 km in hybrid mode.
