Suzuki showcased the upgraded XL7 at the Vietnam Auto Expo (VMS) 2024, along with announcing attractive promotions for this compact MPV.
Suzuki is offering a 50% discount on registration fees, amounting to approximately 30 million VND. Additionally, they are providing accessories worth 5 million VND for customers purchasing the XL7 in October 2024.
Similar to the previous version, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is imported from Indonesia and therefore does not benefit from the government’s 50% reduction in registration fees for domestically produced and assembled cars. To stay competitive, Suzuki had to independently reduce the fees for this MPV.
The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is not the only small MPV in the segment offering discounts. Domestically assembled vehicles like the Mitsubishi Xpander MT and Kia Carens also provide a 50% reduction in registration fees. Honda BR-V and imported versions of the Mitsubishi Xpander have dealer promotions, while the Toyota Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio enjoy a 100% registration fee waiver from both the dealer and the government.
The XL7 Hybrid is one of the two remaining passenger car models in Suzuki’s lineup, alongside the Jimny. Meanwhile, the Swift has quietly disappeared from Suzuki’s website, and the Ertiga Hybrid and Ciaz have been discontinued in Vietnam due to low sales.
According to Suzuki’s representative at the VMS 2024, the brand plans to reintroduce the Swift to the Vietnamese market. Additionally, they intend to launch a compact SUV in the future, but the name has not yet been disclosed.
Following the discontinuation of the Ertiga Hybrid, the XL7 Hybrid is now Suzuki’s flagship product in Vietnam. In September 2024, Suzuki sold 282 units of the XL7 Hybrid in the domestic market, a staggering 2,069% growth. It was the MPV with the highest growth rate in the Vietnamese market during that month.
Officially launched in Vietnam in late August 2024, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is available in two versions, priced from 599.9 to 607.9 million VND. The new model features the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) system, combining an integrated ISG generator with a lithium-ion battery. This technology reduces fuel consumption by 14% per 100 km compared to the conventional engine version. Suzuki offers an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty on the lithium-ion battery, whichever comes first.
The XL7 Hybrid also boasts new features such as automatic headlights, turn indicators, automatic folding mirrors, a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, cruise control, and more.
