Kia has recently released an official video teaser, offering a first glimpse at the design of the updated Sportage mid-life cycle.
The 2025 Sportage‘s most significant changes will be to the front end, featuring a LED lighting cluster in the shape of a star map, inspired by the EV9 electric model. This is complemented by a more angular grille and headlight design, creating a seamless overall look.
At the rear, the 2025 Kia Sportage boasts redesigned taillights and a simplified bumper, giving the Korean crossover a sleek appearance.
The Sportage‘s interior is expected to be enhanced with a new curved display, integrating a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an infotainment screen. The 2025 model may also feature Kia Connect in certain markets, enabling automatic emergency calls in the event of a collision and allowing control of vehicle functions via a smartphone app.
The Kia Sportage mid-life cycle update is likely to retain the previous powertrain options. These include a gasoline engine (1.6, 2.0, or 2.5L, with power outputs ranging from 150 to 233 hp), a hybrid version (148 to 227 hp), and a plug-in hybrid (offering 261 hp). In select markets, the Sportage is also available with a diesel engine (1.6 or 2.0L, producing 113 to 183 hp).
These engines are paired with either a 6-speed or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Following its debut in South Korea, the Kia Sportage will enter production and is expected to go on sale globally next year.
