Just a few days after Honda Vietnam launched the Vario 160, the price of the imported Vario 160 from Indonesia continues to drop. The decrease this time is not significant, only a few hundred thousand to under VND 2 million.
Honda Vietnam distributes the Vario 160 in four color options, along with two braking system choices: CBS or ABS. This scooter model is priced at VND 51.69-52.19 million for the CBS version, while the ABS version ranges from VND 55.69-56.19 million.

According to observations at a motorcycle retail chain in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong Province, the price of the imported Vario 160 starts at VND 51 million for the CBS version and VND 55.9 million for the ABS version. These prices are VND 1-1.5 million lower than they were almost two weeks ago.
At another motorcycle business in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, the selling price of the imported Vario 160 scooter ranges from VND 51.3 million to VND 56 million, depending on the version. The store employee shared that this is the lowest price ever offered for this model.

It is uncommon for imported vehicles to be priced lower than their domestically assembled counterparts. This move indicates that private importers are attempting to clear their Vario 160 inventory before December 30, the date when the authorized Vario 160 models will be available for purchase.
When the Vario 160 was first introduced to Vietnam in March, customers had to spend no less than VND 70 million to own one. The ABS version, meanwhile, cost nearly VND 80 million.
It is highly likely that the domestically assembled Honda Vario 160 will face price gouging at authorized Honda Vietnam dealerships. This situation frequently occurs with popular models such as the Vision and SH 150i.
