The beloved Super Cub 50 is riding into the sunset as Honda phases out its small-displacement bikes due to stricter emission regulations and the rise of electric competitors. While it’s sad to see this iconic model disappear, the company is giving it a fitting send-off with two new special editions.
The star of the show is undoubtedly the ‘Final Edition’, brimming with nostalgic charm. Its exterior sports a white and Bonnie blue color scheme, reminiscent of the old-school Super Cub, accented with silver and chrome highlights.
Introducing the Honda Super Cub 50 Final Edition: A Fitting Farewell with a Classic Twist
Honda hasn’t revealed much about this limited-edition bike, but it features a two-tone seat and a special emblem on the front bearing the words “Honda 50 Final Edition.”
These final editions are paired with vintage-inspired badges reminiscent of the original Super Cub C50, introduced back in 1966. Classic-style instrumentation, a rear carrier, and a unique key round off the highlights.
Priced at 270,000 Yen (approximately $1,765) before taxes, production will be limited to 2,000 units. Orders open on November 8th, and each bike will be powered by a 49cc engine producing 3.6 horsepower and 2.8 lb-ft (3.8 Nm) of torque.
While the Honda Super Cub 50 Final Edition will appeal to collectors, Honda is also offering an even rarer treat: the Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty Edition. Limited to just 300 units, each bike carries a pre-tax price tag of 300,000 Yen (around $1,961).
This special edition celebrates Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, featuring cat-inspired side panels and unique badges. It also boasts a colorful instrument cluster, a special key, and a one-of-a-kind seat adorned with Hello Kitty characters.
The powertrain is shared with the Final Edition, but Honda will also offer a Super Cub 110 variant. As the name suggests, it comes with a larger 109cc engine, producing 7.9 horsepower and 6.4 lb-ft (8.8 Nm) of torque.
For fans of the Super Cub, there’s some good news: the Super Cub 110 will live on. Honda has confirmed that this slightly more powerful version will continue the Super Cub’s legacy, ensuring that one of the world’s most popular motorcycles won’t disappear entirely into the history books just yet.
