This year’s VMS sees the absence of familiar names but also welcomes a host of newcomers compared to Vietnam Motor Show 2022 (VMS 2022).

According to the organizers, VMS 2024 focuses on affordable to mid-range vehicles to cater to the needs of Vietnamese consumers instead of luxury vehicles as in previous exhibitions.

Brands such as Honda, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, and MG will once again be present at VMS. In addition, BYD, GAC, GAZ, and Skoda are also making their debut to attract customers. Some motorcycle brands will also be on display at the exhibition to fill the gap left by the absence of several car brands.

This year’s exhibition sees a lower number of participating car brands compared to VMS 2022, with names like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Hyundai, Nissan, and VinFast notably absent. It is also the second consecutive year that Ford has not participated in VMS, despite being a regular fixture in previous exhibitions.

As per the organizers, hybrid and electric vehicles will continue to be the stars of the show. However, brands may focus on affordable electric vehicles instead of luxury ones to cater to a wider audience.

Toyota, Suzuki, and Honda are expected to introduce new hybrid cars at the exhibition. VMS 2024 will also offer personalized spaces using AI technology in the display areas.

The absence of well-known brands that are familiar to Vietnamese consumers will undoubtedly leave many feeling disappointed. Let’s wait and see what VMS 2024 has to offer after a year’s hiatus.
