According to Carscoops, the flying car, Alef Model A, previously pledged to enter production in 2025, is priced at USD 300,000. Despite skepticism, Alef Aeronautics in California has announced agreements to bring this flying car to life.
Alef Aeronautics has received an impressive 3,200 pre-orders for the flying car and has been granted a special flight certification by the Federal Aviation Administration. The company has also revealed agreements with PUCARA Aero and MYC for the production of parts and plans to sell the Alef Model A through a California dealership.
Carscoops notes that PUCARA Aero and MYC are renowned manufacturers of various parts for civilian and military aircraft, helicopters, and drones. They are also suppliers to industry giants Boeing and Airbus.
“The Alef Model A flying car is nearing its final design. Safety is our top priority,” shared Jim Dukhovny, CEO of Alef Aeronautics.
What sets the Alef Model A apart from other flying cars on the market is its lack of large wings and its ability to take off without a long runway. The body of the Alef Model A integrates four high-power propellers that provide sufficient lift for takeoff.
Alef Aeronautics asserts that this flying car is designed for urban use and can take off vertically when needed, soaring above other road vehicles. The company expects to commence production of the Alef Model A in the fourth quarter of 2025, with deliveries soon after. A second, more affordable flying car, the Model Z, is also planned, with an estimated price of just USD 35,000.
