Among the hundreds of Porsche 911s cruising the streets of Vietnam, there’s quite a diverse range of versions and models. And after many years, some remain one-of-a-kind rides. Their common denominator? They will eventually join the fleet of Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, Chairman of Trung Nguyen, Vietnam’s renowned “Coffee King” or simply “Qua” Vu.
If you own a unique Porsche (2-door), reach out to “Qua” Vu’s scouts, and you’re sure to get a good deal without worrying about taking a loss. Recently, Mr. Vu himself took the wheel of a Porsche 911 that’s the only one of its kind in Vietnam – the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS.
In November 2018, this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS with the 991.2 chassis was imported to Vietnam through an official dealer by an anonymous buyer. While the standard version of this model retailed for 8.35 billion VND, the white metallic 2018 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS featured here, with its high-end options, sold for 11.253 billion VND, with nearly 3 billion VND worth of add-ons.
Fast forward six years, and this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS 991.2 has changed hands multiple times, but one thing remains constant: it’s still the only one of its kind in the country. And with Mr. Vu’s recent acquisition, it’s likely to disappear from the sports car resale market for many years, if not forever.
Currently, the car sports a silver wrap, a new license plate, and black wheels, contrasting its new body color. Of course, the black convertible top is a standout feature. The Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS is positioned in the high-performance convertible sports car segment, competing against the likes of the Audi R8 Spyder and the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster.
The Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS 991.2 is a stylish convertible with an attention-grabbing way of opening and closing its soft top. When lowered, the entire roof is protected by a large glass panel. It takes 18 seconds for this sports car to transform into a convertible. And when you want to put the top back up, it takes just one second longer, at 19 seconds.
Inside the cockpit, the interior of this one-of-a-kind Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS 991.2 in Vietnam maintains the familiar 2+2 seating configuration, with the rear seats suitable only for children or extra storage space.
Beyond the premium Alcantara leather on the seats and doors, the interior is accented with carbon fiber details on the steering wheel, center console, and gearshift panels. The illuminated carbon fiber door sills cost 58.3 million VND.
The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system includes a navigation module, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and voice control with Apple CarPlay integration. It also features a two-zone climate control system with an activated carbon filter.
The Burmester high-end surround sound system in this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS costs 253.2 million VND. The instrument cluster features a high-resolution 4.6-inch screen, and the tachometer and speedometer feature the GTS logo in black.
Under the hood, the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS 991.2 is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six, bi-turbo engine that produces 450 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 550 Nm of torque between 2,150 and 5,000 rpm.
Combined with a dual-clutch PDK transmission and all-wheel drive, this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 306 km/h. According to Porsche, this 2018 911 Targa 4 GTS convertible has an average fuel consumption of 8.7 liters per 100 kilometers.
The Ultimate Ride: “Qua” Vu’s Stealthy Acquisition of the Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray with a Unique “Cross-Eyed” Charm
