According to a report by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), total market sales as of October 2024 increased by 12% compared to the same period in 2023.

A breakdown of the data reveals that passenger car sales increased by 13%, commercial vehicles by 11%, and specialized vehicles by 10% year-on-year.

Cumulative sales data for the first ten months of 2024 shows that approximately 363,890 automobiles were delivered to consumers, averaging over 36,000 units per month. However, this figure is not final, as some prominent brands like Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo are yet to disclose their complete business information.

Here are the top ten best-selling automotive brands in Vietnam for the first ten months of 2024:

**VinFast: 51,000 units**

VinFast maintained its leading position in the Vietnamese market, selling over 51,000 vehicles in the first ten months of 2024.

In October alone, VinFast delivered more than 11,000 vehicles to customers, a 24% increase compared to September. The VF 3 and VF 5 models were the top-selling vehicles for the month, with sales of over 5,000 and 2,600 units, respectively.

Currently, VinFast offers seven electric vehicle lines covering all segments, from mini-SUVs to E-SUVs, in the domestic market. The company is also actively expanding internationally and gradually achieving notable successes.

**Toyota: 49,239 units**

Toyota ranked second in the top-selling automotive brands, with cumulative sales of 49,239 units in the ten months, a 23% increase year-on-year.

The Vios, affectionately known as the “people’s car,” remained the backbone of Toyota’s sales, with 10,569 units sold in the first ten months of 2024.

Since the beginning of the year, the company has delivered a total of 3,876 hybrid vehicles to Vietnamese consumers, capturing 55% of the country’s hybrid vehicle market share. Toyota also boasts a diverse range of hybrid models across multiple segments.

**Hyundai: 48,546 units**

Hyundai secured third place in the rankings, with cumulative sales of 48,546 units in the Vietnamese market during the ten-month period.

The B-segment sedan, the Accent, continued to be Hyundai’s cash cow, selling over 9,600 units in the past ten months.

**Ford: 33,090 units**

Ford ranked fourth, with cumulative sales of 33,090 units in the ten months.

Despite a limited product portfolio, Ford boasts two best-selling models, the Ranger and the Everest, which consistently top their respective segments and contribute significantly to the company’s overall sales.

**Mitsubishi: 32,334 units**

Mitsubishi maintained its strong market presence, largely thanks to its popular service vehicle, the Xpander. The company delivered 32,334 units in the first ten months, with the Xpander and Xforce models contributing 15,087 and 11,444 units, respectively, to the total sales.

**Kia: 27,219 units**

Kia, the South Korean automotive brand, followed closely behind Mitsubishi, with cumulative sales of 27,219 units in the first ten months of 2024.

The urban SUVs Sonet and Seltos, along with the MPV Carnival, formed a powerful trio, accounting for approximately 60% of Kia’s total sales since the beginning of the year.

**Mazda: 25,207 units**

Mazda concluded the ten-month period with a total of 25,207 units sold in Vietnam.

The Mazda CX-5, a CUV, remained the brand’s top-selling model, with 11,248 units delivered in the ten months, accounting for nearly 50% of the company’s total sales.

**Honda: 21,260 units**

While Honda enjoys considerable success in the motorcycle market, its automotive division seems to be falling short of capturing the hearts of Vietnamese consumers.

The brand ranked eighth among the top ten best-selling automotive brands in the ten-month period, with cumulative sales of 21,260 units. The Honda City contributed significantly to this figure, with sales of 6,071 units.

**Suzuki: 8,724 units**

Suzuki secured the ninth position in the rankings, with cumulative sales of 8,724 units in the ten months. The majority of these sales came from the popular MPV, the XL7.

**Isuzu**

Isuzu concluded the top ten best-selling automotive brands in Vietnam for the first ten months of 2024, with total sales of 8,317 units. Notably, the Isuzu Truck, a commercial vehicle, was the brand’s top-selling model.
