Following a series of leaks, the 2025 Lexus ES has finally been officially unveiled at the Guangxi Auto Show in China. This is the second facelift for the seventh-generation Lexus ES, which was introduced in 2018, with the first facelift taking place in 2021.
In the Chinese market, the 2025 Lexus ES is offered in three variants, with prices ranging from 299,900 to 488,900 Chinese yuan (approximately 1.049 to 1.711 billion VND).
The Lexus ES has always been popular for its elegant and sophisticated design, and the new model retains these signature elements while updating certain details to give it a more youthful vibe. The distinctive Lexus spindle grille remains, but it has been refined with a pattern inspired by the RX SUV model.
The ES 2025 features redesigned headlights with a prominent Z-shaped LED strip placed above the lamps and hugging the edges, a departure from their lower position in the current version. At the rear, a striking horizontal LED strip connects the taillights on both sides, creating a sense of continuity and adding a modern touch to the vehicle’s backend.
Inside, the Lexus ES 2025 boasts a new 14-inch touchscreen display, replacing the previous 12.3-inch screen. This upgraded screen integrates smart technologies and is accompanied by two rotary knobs for climate control and quick settings adjustments. Other notable features include semi-aniline leather upholstery, voice command functionality, wireless charging, and a premium Mark Levinson sound system.
In China, the Lexus ES 2025 is available with three engine options. The first is a 2.0L naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 170 horsepower. The second option is a 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 203 horsepower.
The hybrid version, on the other hand, combines a 2.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 178 horsepower with a potent 119-horsepower electric motor. The total system output for this variant is 217 horsepower.
Lexus is also planning to introduce a fully electric version of the ES in the future, although an official launch date has not yet been confirmed.
Currently, the ES remains a crucial model for Lexus. While many sedans struggle with lackluster sales, the ES continues to hold its ground. In fact, it is not only Lexus’s best-selling touring car but also the third-best-selling model for the brand overall, with sales increasing by nearly 5% this year as of September, totaling 30,284 units.
