A rare 1954 Peugeot 203 Cabriolet has recently surfaced on the classic car market, sparking interest from enthusiasts and collectors alike.
This particular Peugeot 203 Cabriolet boasts a stunning white exterior, complemented by a vibrant red soft top and interior. Despite its age, the car presents remarkably well with most of its details looking fresh and new, even after 70 years.
It is understood that the car was previously owned by a discreet vintage car collector in Vietnam.
Peugeot 203 is a small family car that was produced from 1948 to 1960. It made its debut at the Paris Motor Show in 1947 and was delivered to the first customers in early 1949.
During its 12-year production run, nearly 700,000 units of the 203 were delivered to customers. From 1949 to 1955, the 203 was Peugeot’s only model as the company had discontinued the 202 and the 403 had not yet been introduced.
The Peugeot 203 features a unibody design with elegant and classic styling. Its appearance bears a resemblance to the Chevrolet Fleetline convertible from the US.
At the heart of the Peugeot 203 is a 1.290 cc four-cylinder engine with a unique hemispherical combustion chamber design, producing 41 horsepower. In 1952, the engine was refined and its output was increased to 44 horsepower.
The car is capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 20 seconds and can reach a top speed of 75 mph. Its fuel consumption varies between 8.1 and 14.1 liters per 100 km, depending on driving conditions.
