As we enter the month of October, automotive brands are gearing up for the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2024, and many are offering promotions to boost sales. This is a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to take advantage of deals on popular raised vehicles like the Mitsubishi Xforce, Xpander, and Toyota Yaris Cross, which are currently offering discounts ranging from tens to hundreds of millions of VND.
A Range of Raised Vehicles from Toyota
Toyota Vietnam has just announced a 50% registration fee discount for a range of their vehicles, offering savings of up to 41 million VND. Specifically, both the CVT and CVT Top versions of the MPV Veloz Cross are eligible for this discount, translating to approximately 32-33 million VND in cash value.
The current price range for the Veloz Cross is 638-660 million VND. Factoring in the government’s registration fee support and Toyota’s promotion, customers can expect to save up to 64-66 million VND, depending on the model chosen.

Similarly, the two Avanza Premio models are also eligible for a 50% registration fee discount, amounting to 28-30 million VND. The current price range for this vehicle is 588-598 million VND.
The Yaris Cross, a B-segment SUV, also benefits from a 50% registration fee discount, resulting in savings of 33-38 million VND. With 5,919 units sold in the first eight months of the year, it is the second best-selling SUV in its class, just behind the Mitsubishi Xforce. This popular model is available with either a gasoline or hybrid engine, and its price ranges from 650 to 765 million VND.
Honda’s B-Segment SUV and MPV
At the beginning of October, Honda announced its latest promotion, offering discounts on the BR-V and HR-V models.
Customers who purchase the BR-V MPV will receive a 50% discount on the registration fee. This vehicle is currently available in two versions, the G and L, with prices ranging from 661 to 705 million VND.
Taking into account the registration fee discount, the effective price of the BR-V could be reduced to 628-670 million VND. Additionally, customers who purchase the BR-V in October will also receive a one-year body insurance policy and genuine accessories as a bonus.
Honda’s B-segment SUV, the HR-V, is also eligible for a 50% registration fee support, amounting to 34.5-43.5 million VND. There are three versions of this model available, with the G and L versions priced between 699 and 826 million VND, and the RS version priced at 871 million VND.

At Honda dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City, customers who purchase the HR-V will also receive a range of accessories, such as floor mats, dash cams, or heat-insulating film, depending on the promotions offered by individual stores.
As of the end of August, Honda has sold a total of 3,329 HR-V units, ranking fifth in its segment. However, unlike the Seltos or Creta, the HR-V is not locally assembled, so it does not qualify for the government’s 50% registration fee support.
Mitsubishi’s Full Lineup of SUVs
Mitsubishi is offering a 50-100% registration fee discount on almost its entire range of vehicles. Specifically, the new B-segment SUV has a 50% registration fee discount for the Premium and Exceed versions.
The Xforce is currently available in four versions, with prices ranging from 599 to 705 million VND. The Exceed and Premium versions are priced at 640 million and 680 million VND, respectively, meaning customers can save around 29-35 million VND when purchasing this SUV in October. Additionally, a 15-million-VND fuel voucher is offered with the purchase of the Exceed or Ultimate version.
What’s Left to Anticipate at the Vietnam Motor Show?
The automotive landscape is evolving, and the VMS 2024 event is set to showcase a shift in the market. With a focus on innovation and a changing industry dynamic, the stage is set for Japanese and Chinese automakers to steal the spotlight from traditional powerhouses like Mercedes-Benz, Ford, and BMW. This shift signals a new era in automotive excellence, where the East meets West and a diverse range of vehicles take center stage.
