This is a significant week for Genesis as it unveils its new GV70 and electrified GV70 to the public in California, ahead of their debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. The new models benefit from a host of changes, both inside and out. The brand is also in the process of expanding its dealer footprint.

2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 Details: SUV Features 27-Inch Screen, Star-Patterned Doors, and NACS

During the vehicle’s unveiling, Claudia Márquez, CEO of Genesis Motor North America, said, “The GV70 is our most popular model in North America, and we’ve welcomed over 85,000 customers to the GV70 family in just three short years.”

The new GV70 and electrified GV70 redesign offer all the amenities and interior sophistication of a great SUV without sacrificing the fun driving character that Genesis vehicles are known for,” she continued.

Longer Range, Standard NACS Port

The new GV70 Electrified comes standard with an 84 kWh battery pack. This is larger than the 77.4 kWh battery found in the original version of this vehicle. While Genesis has not released specific range estimates, they have stated that the range will be greater than the 236 miles (380 km) offered in the current GV70. Range has likely been the biggest issue with the GV70.

Additionally, the GV70 Electrified comes equipped with a standard NACS charging port. This means the vehicle will be able to access the Tesla Supercharger network. The car will also come with an adapter to connect to CCS chargers. Both are significant wins.

Minor Design Updates, Massive 27-Inch Screen

Both the GV70 Electrified and the gasoline-powered version feature new design details inside and out. They both receive updated front ends, and the EV has a charging port hidden within the grille. The taillights on each vehicle now match the dual-row headlights.
The interior has also been upgraded with a massive 27-inch OLED screen that combines the instrument cluster and the center infotainment system. However, overall, the interior isn’t too different from the current vehicle.

It continues with a space-age feel through its circular controls. This is fitting when considering the star-patterned doors.

Available on the GV70 Electrified, buyers can opt for semi-transparent panels to showcase the starry night sky within. They only add another positive note to the already luxurious interior.

No Announcement on Drivetrain Changes

It’s important to note that not everything has been updated or improved. After all, this is just a refresh of the current-generation GV70. As such, the gasoline-powered GV70 still utilizes two engine options. The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower, and a 3.5-liter V6 with 375 horsepower is also available.

When asked about the GV70 Electrified’s specifications for North America, the South Korean company said they “won’t release detailed information” at this time. In terms of pricing, the 2024 model features a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 429 horsepower (each motor provides 160 kW), with a “boost mode” that increases power to 483 horsepower for 10 seconds.

Genesis has not yet announced pricing for either GV70, but a slight increase is expected. The brand stated that the vehicles would arrive at dealerships in the first half of 2025. Speaking of dealerships, finding one in North America is getting easier. Genesis said it just opened its 60th location in the US and currently has an additional 17 dealers in Canada. This number does not include Kia or Hyundai dealers that also offer Genesis vehicles.
