Nissan has unveiled an updated version of its popular Nissan Magnite, a compact SUV currently manufactured in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Nissan has hinted at plans to expand the export of the Magnite to right-hand drive markets, potentially including Vietnam in the future.

The Nissan Magnite’s dimensions measure up at 3,994 mm in length, 1,758 mm in width, and 1,572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm and a ground clearance of 205 mm. These specifications place the Magnite in direct competition with other A-segment SUVs in Vietnam, such as the Toyota Raize, Hyundai Venue, VinFast VF 5, and Kia Sonet.

The updated Magnite features LED lighting at the front and rear, along with newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels and a roof rail setup.

Inside the cabin, the Nissan Magnite boasts a digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, complemented by a central infotainment display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The interior is adorned with black and brown leather upholstery, along with wireless charging capabilities and ambient lighting. Additional features include remote engine start, a cooled glove box, and an air-conditioning system that generates negative ions for a refreshing in-cabin experience.

All variants of the Nissan Magnite come equipped with six airbags and a 360-degree camera system for enhanced safety.

Under the hood, the Nissan Magnite is powered by a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 98 horsepower, paired with a Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).

First introduced in December 2020, the Nissan Magnite has since achieved cumulative sales of over 150,000 units in India and various international markets.

To date, Nissan has exported the Magnite to 20 left-hand drive markets, with plans to expand to 45 right-hand drive countries starting in 2025.

This suggests that the Vietnamese market can anticipate the arrival of the Nissan Magnite as a new contender in the A-segment SUV category, as early as next year.

The current lineup in this segment includes the Kia Sonet (priced from VND 539-624 million), Toyota Raize (from VND 498 million), Hyundai Venue (VND 499-539 million), and the electric VinFast VF 5 (starting at VND 460 million).
