According to Carscoops, Hyundai Tucson’s sales in the US have dipped by 5% year-to-date, but its performance in the third quarter outshone the combined efforts of four Stellantis brands: Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Dodge, and Chrysler.
Specifically, the South Korean automaker’s C-segment SUV clocked 53,801 sales to American customers, while the aforementioned quartet managed 51,406 between them. The Tucson is also Hyundai’s bestseller in the US market.
While the third-quarter sales of over 53,000 Tucsons represent a 2% increase, cumulative sales for the first three quarters are down 5% compared to the same period last year.

Fiat, meanwhile, recorded a paltry 316 sales in the third quarter, averaging just over 100 units per month. Alfa Romeo fared slightly better with 2,049 vehicles delivered to US customers, but Carscoops points out that this figure is still underwhelming.
The publication notes that the discontinued Chevrolet Camaro posted higher third-quarter sales than the Alfa Romeo Giulia.
Chrysler’s sales in the US during the third quarter totaled 22,482 vehicles, a 47% drop compared to the same period last year. The brand now has only two models in production: the 300 sedan and the Pacifica minivan.
Dodge, the most efficient brand among the four Stellantis marques mentioned, shifted 26,559 units, a 43% decline year-on-year. The discontinuation of its muscle cars, the Charger and Challenger, is cited as the primary reason for the significant drop in Dodge’s sales.

There have been rumors that Stellantis is planning to streamline its portfolio of automotive brands, which currently stands at 14, including Citroen, Fiat, Opel/Vauxhall, Peugeot, Abarth, Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Lancia, DS Automobiles, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati.
“If any of our brands don’t make money, we will shut them down,” asserted CEO Carlos Tavares.
