The Electrifying Ride-Hailing Platform: Celebrating ESG Excellence at ASOCIO 2024

The ASOCIO DX Award 2024 recognized outstanding agencies, organizations, and businesses across 10 categories: Excellent Technology Enterprise; Smart City; Digital Government; Digital Education; Digital Health, Cybersecurity; ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance); Digital Ecosystem and Solutions; Partners; and Female Leaders in Technology.

Xanh SM stood out in the ESG category for its positive social impact and promotion of green transportation. The award is based on international standard criteria for evaluating enterprises’ contribution to global sustainable development, focusing on critical indicators such as reducing CO₂ emissions, creating a safe and equitable work environment, and effective corporate governance.

Xanh SM met all these criteria with its VinFast all-electric vehicle fleet. With over 80,000 electric vehicles in operation, Xanh SM has helped reduce 100,000 tons of CO₂ emissions, equivalent to the carbon absorption of 4.7 million trees in a year.

In addition to its sustainability efforts, Xanh SM has created over 80,000 stable job opportunities for taxi and electric motorbike drivers, boosting the local job market. Along with a friendly work environment, Xanh SM invests in professional training programs and career development support policies, especially for female drivers.

The training program not only enhances safe driving skills but also equips participants with communication and customer care knowledge, fostering a dedicated and trusted service culture. For female drivers, Xanh SM offers specialized training, advancement opportunities, and health welfare policies, empowering them to thrive and excel in the green transportation industry.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Global CEO of GSM (the parent company of Xanh SM), shared that the ESG award recognizes Xanh SM’s valuable contributions to environmental protection and sustainable development. “Xanh SM is determined to remain at the forefront of the green transportation sector, bringing our sustainable values to the world and building an emission-free, nature-friendly transportation community,” he added.

The ASOCIO DX Award is an annual prestigious award in the information technology sector in the Asia-Pacific region, organized by the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization. It honors individuals, organizations, and enterprises from 24 member economies.

This year, Xanh SM was the sole representative from the transportation sector to receive this recognition. The award ceremony was held during the ASOCIO Digital Summit in Tokyo, Japan, with the participation of over 600 delegates and leaders from global governments and enterprises.

Along with Xanh SM, the ASOCIO Award also recognized nine other agencies and enterprises, including the People’s Committees of Thua Thien Hue and Binh Phuoc Provinces, the Postal Academy, and VinBrain, for their contributions to digital transformation and technology application.

The ESG award from ASOCIO DX Award 2024 adds to Xanh SM’s impressive list of achievements in 2024. Earlier, Xanh SM won the prestigious “Fast-Growing Enterprise” and “Inspirational Brand” titles at APEA (Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards) and “Typical Brand in the Transport Service Field” at Better Choice Awards (BCA) 2024.
