With just over a month left in 2024, dealerships still have inventory of 2023-manufactured (2023 VIN) vehicles. A prime example is the MG5 MT.
To clear out these older models, an MG dealership in the Quang Ninh province is offering the 2023 VIN MG5 MT for just over VND 290 million. That’s a significant discount from the listed price of VND 399 million, bringing the on-the-road price to around VND 360 million. Of course, these discounted vehicles will be limited in quantity and color options.
Meanwhile, the 2024 VIN MG5 MT is also available at a bargain price from an MG dealership in the Thanh Hoa province, advertised for less than VND 310 million.
As a result, the MG5 MT, a C-segment sedan, is now more affordable than A-segment cars like the Kia Morning, Hyundai Grand i10, and Toyota Wigo. In fact, it’s currently the most affordable C-segment sedan in Vietnam.

The MG5 MT was first introduced to the Vietnamese market in September 2023. It appears that sales have not met expectations, leading both the brand and dealerships to continuously offer promotional prices for this model.
Targeted at customers looking for a vehicle for ride-sharing services, the MG5 MT sports a subdued exterior design and modest features. It comes with a chrome-accented grille, halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, fog lights, and electrically adjustable side mirrors with turn indicators.
Inside, the MG5 MT offers fabric upholstery, a 4-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, a 2-way adjustable steering wheel with function buttons, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and a 4-speaker audio system.

Under the hood, the C-segment sedan is powered by a 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that produces 113 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
