The Year-End Clearance: Unbelievable Deals on Sedans

As we enter the month of October, car manufacturers are not only offering promotions on SUVs but also on sedans. While the discounts might not be as substantial as those for SUVs, some sedan models are still eligible for registration fee discounts or cash rebates of up to tens of millions of VND to boost year-end sales.

Toyota Vios

The Toyota Vios, a B-segment sedan, is among the Toyota models eligible for a 50% registration fee discount this October.

Specifically, customers who purchase the Vios can take advantage of both price and installment interest rate promotions. The registration fee discount translates to approximately 23-27 million VND, depending on the version. Customers who opt for installment payments can also enjoy a preferential interest rate of only 5.99% for the first 12 months.

After applying the discounts, the price of the Toyota Vios ranges from 435 to 518 million VND, depending on the version. The vehicle is also eligible for a 50% registration fee discount from the government, resulting in an additional savings of 23-27 million VND.

Currently, the Vios is the best-selling sedan in its class in Vietnam. In the first eight months of the year, Toyota Vietnam sold a total of 6,970 units of the Vios, outperforming its rival, the Hyundai Accent (6,910 units).

Mitsubishi Attrage

The Mitsubishi Attrage is the sole representative of Mitsubishi in the low-slung car segment in Vietnam. This October, the vehicle is offered with a 50-100% registration fee discount, depending on the version.

Specifically, customers who purchase the Mitsubishi Attrage CVT and CVT Premium versions are eligible for a 50% registration fee discount and receive a complimentary shark fin antenna. After the discount, the prices of these two versions are 442 and 456.5 million VND, respectively.

The MT version is offered with a 100% registration fee discount, reducing the price from 380 million to 342 million VND. Customers who purchase the Attrage MT version also receive a complimentary rearview camera worth 1.5 million VND.

In addition to the version-specific promotions, customers who purchase this B-segment sedan during October will also receive a fuel voucher worth 10 million VND.

Honda Accord

The Honda Accord, a D-segment sedan, has been consistently offered with cash discounts since the beginning of the year to stimulate sales. In Vietnam, this model is imported from Thailand and is currently available in a single 1.5 Turbo version, with a listed price of 1.319 billion VND.

Specifically, customers who purchase the Accord in October will receive a cash discount of 220 million VND, bringing the selling price down to 1.019 billion VND. They will also receive genuine accessories, including floor mats, window tinting, and a dashcam.

In the past eight months, Honda Vietnam sold only three units of the Accord, placing it at the bottom of the sales rankings. The challenges faced by this model are not only due to its high price but also to a lack of innovation. After more than seven years on the market, Honda has not introduced any new engine options for the Accord to boost its appeal.

Kia’s Lineup of Sedans

Since mid-September, a range of Kia sedans, including the K3, K5, and Soluto, have been offered with cash discounts to attract customers. Specifically, the Kia K5 GT-Line version is offered with a discount of 20 million VND, reducing the selling price to 979 million VND.

Customers who purchase the remaining two versions of the K5, the Premium and Luxury, will receive one year of physical damage insurance. The current prices of these two models are 094 and 859 million VND, respectively.

The Kia K3 2.0 Premium and 1.6 Turbo versions are offered with discounts of 10 and 25 million VND, respectively. After the discounts, the price range for this model is 609-689 million VND.

The B-segment sedan Soluto is also eligible for cash discounts in the last quarter of the year. Specifically, customers who purchase the Soluto in October will receive discounts ranging from 21 to 22 million VND, depending on the version.

After the promotion, the price of this B-segment sedan will start from 397 million VND. This price point makes the Soluto more affordable than even some A-segment cars on the market, such as the Kia Morning or the Hyundai Grand i10.
