VinFast is gearing up to launch a new electric vehicle, as revealed by Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, Global Sales Vice President. The upcoming model, named the M-Green, will be more compact than the VinFast VF3, with the “M” in its name standing for “mini.”

Prior to this announcement, VinFast had filed for industrial design protection for a new small electric car, which is likely the M-Green model.

Based on images from the September 2024 issue of the Industrial Property Gazette, the new model features a 3-door design with 2 side doors and a rear hatch, similar to the VF3. However, unlike its predecessor, the M-Green adopts a urban hatchback style with a lower stance and shorter front and rear ends. Its exterior design bears a resemblance to international offerings such as the Smart ForTwo and the Citroen Ami One.

The M-Green also showcases a softer and more rounded aesthetic compared to the VF3, complemented by VinFast’s signature “V” logo and wing-shaped details at the front and rear. These wing-shaped elements are expected to be decorative chrome accents rather than LED lights, emphasizing the brand’s identity.

The vehicle features compact headlamps positioned high on the front end, along with vertical air intakes on the front bumper accented by L-shaped trim. The rear combines C-shaped taillights that wrap around the corners, and a shark-fin antenna on the roof. Inside, the M-Green is expected to offer a spacious 2-row, 4-seat configuration.

According to VinFast representatives, the M-Green targets customers in the ride-sharing and taxi services. As a result, the vehicle’s features and equipment are likely to be basic to maintain a competitive price point.

The VinFast M-Green is designed with ride-sharing and taxi services in mind.

It is expected that the M-Green will be priced lower than the VF3, which currently retails for VND 240 million with a battery lease or VND 322 million with a battery purchase.

With the introduction of the M-Green, VinFast is repositioning the VF3 as a vehicle for individual customers, discontinuing its previous plans to sell the VF3 to taxi companies.
