The new Honda Accord made its debut in the US market in November 2022 and was subsequently launched in the important Chinese market in April 2023. Even though it has only been available in China for over a year, the D-segment sedan from Honda is already preparing for a new version. Images posted on the website of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology confirm this.
It is understood that these are the initial images of the regular gasoline-powered Honda Accord for the Chinese market. Meanwhile, the version sold in the billion-people market uses a plug-in hybrid engine (e:PHEV) that is fuel-efficient.
Compared to the e:PHEV version, the gasoline-powered Accord only has minor changes in its exterior design. Accordingly, the car is equipped with a new grille with horizontal chrome-plated slats instead of the honeycomb weave pattern found on the e:PHEV version. Below is a new front bumper with a redesigned center air intake and side vents.

In addition, the gasoline-powered Accord replaces the dark exterior trim with chrome accents. Meanwhile, the rear spoiler is painted black instead of silver as seen on the e:PHEV version. Depending on the trim level, the Honda Accord 2025 gasoline version will feature 17-inch or 19-inch wheels.
Images of the interior and specific equipment of the Honda Accord 2025 gasoline version for the Chinese market have not been disclosed. However, it is expected to share the same convenience and safety features as the e:PHEV version.
The Honda Accord e:PHEV in the Chinese market comes with notable convenience features such as a 3-spoke steering wheel with function buttons and sporty shift paddles, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen with support for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and over-the-air updates, a head-up display, a Bose 12-speaker audio system, automatic air conditioning, digital rearview mirrors, Honda Connect 4.0 connectivity, facial recognition technology, wireless phone charging, a USB Type-C port, and a panoramic sunroof.

The car is also equipped with the Honda Sensing active safety technology suite, a 360-degree camera system, the Honda LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring system, an electronic parking brake, and an automatic temporary brake hold feature.
Information about the engine of the Honda Accord 2025 gasoline version for the Chinese market is still being kept under wraps. Meanwhile, in the US market, the car is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 192 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, paired with an upgraded continuously variable transmission (CVT) as standard. This engine has been improved with variable valve timing and lift (VTEC) technology, direct fuel injection, an exhaust gas treatment system, a crankshaft, and an oil pan to reduce engine noise.
Honda has not yet revealed when the gasoline-powered Accord will be released in the Chinese market. The price of the car is also a mystery, but it is expected to be higher than that of the previous version.
In Vietnam, the Honda Accord currently on sale is still the older generation. This model has been launched in several Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand and Indonesia, but there is no information about its launch in Vietnam. For many months, Honda Vietnam has been offering cash discounts of up to 220 million VND on this model to clear inventory.
