According to Carscoops, images of the 2025 Kia Sportage for the European market have surfaced just ahead of its rumored October 24 launch.
This is a facelifted version of the C-segment SUV. In Europe, the Kia Sportage has a shorter wheelbase compared to its US counterpart, which is expected to be unveiled in the latter part of this year or early next year.
The interior of the 2025 Kia Sportage features a curved display that spans across the dashboard. Aside from this distinctive display, much of the dashboard remains under camouflage in the leaked images.
The Kia Sportage 2025 has a two-spoke steering wheel. The version in the images is equipped with a manual transmission.
As this is a facelift, most of the changes are expected to be cosmetic. The front grille takes on a rectangular shape, flanked by vertically oriented lighting units similar to those seen on the Kia Carnival, Sorento, and EV9. Below this is a wide air intake and fog lights on either side.
The tiger-nose grille design, a signature of Kia, seems to have been discarded for this model.
At the rear, minor changes are evident, with thinner reflectors and redesigned taillights that appear more streamlined and possibly connected.
Details about the powertrain are yet to be confirmed but are likely to be revealed later this month.
In Europe, the current Kia Sportage is offered with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 148 horsepower, mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. A mild-hybrid version of the Kia Sportage, paired with a 1.49 kWh battery, delivers a combined output of 226 horsepower.
For the plug-in hybrid variant, the Kia Sportage is equipped with a 13.8 kWh battery, resulting in a combined output of 261 horsepower and an all-electric range of 43 miles (69 km).
In Vietnam, the Kia Sportage is available with three engine options: a 2.0-liter gasoline, a 2.0-liter diesel, and a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. The starting price is VND 779 million. The hybrid version of the Kia Sportage has not been introduced in Vietnam by Thaco.
Over a nine-month period, 1,925 units of the Kia Sportage were sold in Vietnam. Its closest competitors, the Mazda CX-5 and Ford Territory, currently lead the C-SUV segment with sales figures of 9,240 and 5,084 units, respectively.
