The million-dollar Koenigsegg CCX supercar finally getting its license plate after years of being in the country has sparked great interest among local car enthusiasts. The Koenigsegg CCX is now back in Haiphong after spending over two years in Ho Chi Minh City for repairs, registration, and inspection.
This event also sparked some controversies, as some people argued that the Koenigsegg CCX hypercar, now licensed in Haiphong, had only recently arrived in the country in 2020. Others claimed that the car had been there since 2018, which would make it six years already.
It is challenging to determine the exact year the Koenigsegg CCX was imported into Vietnam, as the owner is notoriously private. However, a Vietnamese supercar specialist website revealed that their sources indicated that the CCX arrived in 2018, which would make it six years now.
This claim seems plausible, as back in 2020, when we checked the website of Al Ain Class Motors in Dubai, the Koenigsegg CCX was marked as sold, making it unlikely that it was imported into Vietnam that same year.
If 2018 was indeed the year of its arrival, it means that the Koenigsegg CCX remained hidden for six years before getting its license plate, which is an incredibly long time for a supercar. Even after obtaining the license and completing the necessary inspections, the owner of the Koenigsegg CCX is not in a rush to take it out on the roads.
The Koenigsegg CCX, owned by a Haiphong businessman, is equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 supercharged engine that delivers an impressive 800 horsepower. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, enabling the Koenigsegg CCX to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 402 km/h.
With only 30 units of the Koenigsegg CCX ever produced globally, and a few of them having been involved in severe accidents, resulting in extensive damage, the rarity of this supercar is undeniable.
