When it comes to Vietnam’s top luxury car enthusiasts, the name Pham Tran Nhat Minh, also known as Minh “Nha,” is revered by car enthusiasts. He was a pioneer in bringing hypercars like the Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Huayra, and, most recently, the McLaren Elva, to the country.
Ironically, the cars Minh “Nha” chooses as his daily drivers or even when returning from overseas trips are not the hypercars, but the latest and most luxurious models. On the morning of December 11, 2024, Minh “Nha” shared a photo of himself behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce.
This particular car is the Rolls-Royce Spectre, an all-electric vehicle that eliminates the need for the fuel-guzzling V12 engines found in the Rolls-Royce Ghost or the Pagani Huayra. Instead, Minh “Nha”‘s concern is whether the car is fully charged, rather than the location of the nearest gas station.
Minh “Nha” ordered the luxurious Spectre, Rolls-Royce’s first electric model, over a year ago, and it was only delivered in July of this year. He then auctioned off a vanity license plate, 51L-038.38, to match the number on his Rolls-Royce Ghost, 56S-3838.
Minh “Nha”‘s Rolls-Royce Spectre is painted in white, but the real standout feature is the legendary grille. Instead of the traditional silver or gold-plated Spirit of Ecstasy logo, this all-electric coupe features a polycarbonate logo that illuminates at night.
This polycarbonate option is one of three choices offered by the British luxury carmaker, alongside the traditional silver and gold-plated versions. The polycarbonate logo stands out, especially at night, when it can be illuminated or change colors.
Minh “Nha” chose a blue and white color scheme for the interior, which looks elegant, but the copper-colored seat belts seem out of place. The dashboard retains the mysterious black color, while the steering wheel features a two-tone black and blue design, creating a striking contrast.
The newly delivered Rolls-Royce Spectre is powered by an electric motor that generates a maximum output of 577 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
With a range of 515 kilometers on a single charge, according to the EPA test cycle in the US, the Spectre can easily take you from Saigon to Nha Trang without needing to recharge. Rolls-Royce assures its customers that 515 kilometers is more than sufficient, as their research shows that owners of these luxury vehicles often have multiple cars and don’t rely solely on the Spectre for their daily commutes.
