The McLaren Artura is an extraordinary supercar and the first-ever commercially available plug-in hybrid from McLaren, instantly capturing the attention of car enthusiasts in the country.

Currently, there is only one McLaren Artura coupe in existence, finished in a striking orange color and owned by a car collector in Ho Chi Minh City. The car has been registered and is a rare sight on the roads, despite being officially imported.

The Artura is also McLaren’s first mass-produced plug-in hybrid supercar, a seemingly groundbreaking step for the British automaker. However, deliveries of the Artura were delayed due to various issues, which led the company to auction off a significant portion of its car collection valued at VND 3,000 billion. One of the disclosed reasons for the delay was the potential for the Artura to catch fire at any moment.

This issue stems from the use of certain bolts in the high-pressure fuel lines, which can loosen over time and cause fuel leaks. In the worst-case scenario, a fire may occur, similar to what happened with other recalled McLaren supercars. A total of 164 McLaren Arturas are affected by this problem and require repairs.

The all-new McLaren Artura is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, producing 577 horsepower, and an additional 94 horsepower from its electric motor. Combined, the plug-in hybrid system delivers a total of 671 horsepower.

The McLaren Artura accelerates from 0 to 96 km/h in just 3 seconds and has a top speed of 330 km/h. In electric-only mode, the Artura can travel up to 30 kilometers and reach a maximum speed of 130 km/h.
