The luxury SUV market has seen several prestigious brands jump on the bandwagon, including Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, and Porsche. However, Ferrari stands out with their Purosangue SUV, the only one powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine.
Ferrari’s response to the SUV craze, the Purosangue, is here, and it seems to exist solely to fuel the frenzy among purists who adore naturally aspirated, V12-powered machines, as well as collectors and speculators scrambling to secure a purchase.
The Ferrari Purosangue is currently the first SUV to hit the used car market in the US, and it’s listed at a significant premium over the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, despite starting at around $400,000.
Three out of the four Purosangues currently available are priced at an astronomical $699,980. This is approximately $300,000 more than the super SUV’s initial price tag. This markup isn’t due to taxes, as in other markets, but rather the options these particular Purosangues have and the hefty profit the dealer aims to make.
One of the three is painted black and has 200 miles on the clock, another is gray with 210 miles, and a red one is also up for grabs with just 23 miles on it, practically brand new.
Interestingly, the black and gray cars have been available at the dealer since late August but remain unsold. The red one was sold in early October. The fourth Purosangue arrived this month, finished in a stunning blue and with 109 miles on the odometer. It’s the most reasonably priced of the current offerings at $679,980, though it still represents a markup of about $279,000.
While the Ferrari Purosangue is undoubtedly an exceptional vehicle, shelling out nearly $700,000 for an SUV is absurd. That price is especially outrageous when you consider that a new 2025 Lamborghini Urus starts at just over $240,000. There are also several Ferrari SF90 Stradales priced below $600,000, which, while less practical than the Purosangue, are significantly faster.
