The first batch of Omoda C5 vehicles has left Indonesia and is en route to Vietnam. This marks the official entry of the Omoda C5 into the Vietnamese market through distributor Geleximco.
Earlier in April, the distributor announced plans to assemble and produce Omoda and Jaecoo-branded vehicles at the Thai Binh factory from 2026 onwards, with a total investment of over $800 million.
Prior to the factory’s production, all vehicles will be imported from Indonesia or Malaysia. Omoda dealerships across Vietnam have started taking reservations for the C5 since October 25, with deliveries expected to begin in December.
Positioned in the B-segment SUV category, the Omoda C5 boasts dimensions of 4,400 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,585 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,630 mm.

Under the hood, the C5 is powered by a 1.5L Turbo engine, delivering 145 horsepower and a peak torque of 210 Nm. This is paired with a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive.
In addition to the C5, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV is also slated for launch in the final month of the year. Positioned in the C-segment SUV category, the J7 will go up against competitors such as the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, and Mazda CX-5.
The J7 features a hybrid powertrain that combines an electric motor with a 1.5L turbo gasoline engine, resulting in a maximum output of 347 horsepower and a peak torque of 525 Nm.
