The fourth-generation Porsche Cayenne is going electric, as confirmed by the German automaker in a recent press release. Porsche also shared a few images of the upcoming model undergoing testing before its official launch.

Built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture, the new Cayenne will feature the same 800 V electric technology as the electric Macan. Details about the powertrain remain under wraps for now.

According to Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche AG, “The Cayenne has always been defined by its sporting character within its segment. With the fourth generation in the middle of the decade, the Porsche Cayenne will set standards in the segment of electric SUVs.”

Even as the fourth-generation Cayenne goes all-electric, Porsche isn’t abandoning the third-generation model. The combustion-engine Cayenne will continue to be sold alongside its electric counterpart. In fact, Porsche plans to further develop its internal combustion and hybrid variants, offering customers a choice of at least three drive types until after 2030.

The third-generation Cayenne, introduced last year, is currently available with various powertrain options, including a 3.0L turbocharged V6 and a 4.0L turbocharged V8, both offered with plug-in hybrid technology.

In the Vietnamese market, the Porsche Cayenne is offered in five different versions, with a starting price of VND 5.56 billion. The top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo GT is priced from VND 14.36 billion.
