The Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i is a standout with its self-developed next-gen Thor PHEV system.
According to Carsnewchina, since its official launch on December 6, 2024, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i has delivered over 20,000 units to customers in the first month.
Furthermore, as of December 19, the new Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i had only been on the market for 13 days, and total sales had already exceeded 10,000 units, breaking delivery speed records for plug-in hybrid SUVs, according to Geely.
Currently, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-I is available in China in five variants. For customers who pre-ordered before January 31, a promotional price of 99,800 – 132,800 CNY (equivalent to 13,600 – 18,200 USD) (~ 345 – 460 million VND) is offered.
The highlight of the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i is its next-generation Thor PHEV system, developed in-house by Geely, combined with E-DHT. This system includes a 1.5L hybrid engine with a thermal efficiency of 46.5%, paired with an electric motor. The combustion engine produces 82 kW (110 hp) and 136 Nm of torque, while the electric motor delivers 160 kW (215 hp) and 262 Nm of torque. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
The Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i offers two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options with capacities of 8.5 kWh and 19.09 kWh, providing pure electric ranges of 55 km and 120 km respectively (according to CLTC standards). According to the manufacturer, the fuel consumption is 3.75L/100 km under the CLTC standard. When fully charged, the car has a comprehensive range of 1,420 km. Only the top-end variant supports DC fast charging, and it takes 20 minutes to charge the battery from 30% to 80%. The Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i has a curb weight of 1,610 kg and 1,724 kg.
Built on Geely’s GEA platform, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i has dimensions of 4,740 x 1,905 x 1,685 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,755 mm. These measurements result in a space application ratio of up to 84.3%. The standard trunk volume is 528L and can be expanded to 2,065L by folding down the rear seats.
Inside, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i features a 14.6-inch central control screen that integrates multiple vehicle control and entertainment functions, supported by the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system. The seats are made of premium leather material. Additionally, the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i is equipped with a full LCD instrument panel measuring 10.2 inches and a 13.8-inch W-HUD, linked together to form a three-screen system.
