Hongqi Unveils its New Mid-Size Electric SUV, the Tiangong 08

Hongqi, a renowned automotive brand, has recently introduced its latest creation – the Hongqi Tiangong 08, also known as the Hongqi EHS7. Built upon the Tiangong modular platform, this impressive SUV comes in five different variants, with prices ranging from 239,800 to 339,800 CNY (approximately 783 million to 1.1 billion VND).

The EHS7 boasts impressive dimensions, with a length of 4925 mm, a width of 1950 mm, a height of 1680 mm, and a wheelbase of exactly 3 meters.

Hongqi offers a range of six nature-inspired exterior colors, including Distant Mountain Purple, Cloud Stream White, Ocean Blue, Full Moon Grey, Galaxy Silver, and Deep Night Black. The interior color options are equally captivating, with unique shades such as lilac, electric green, and a soft grey.

The Hongqi EHS7 showcases a modern and captivating design. Its distinctive front end features a large hook-shaped headlight assembly, accentuated by the Hongqi logo proudly displayed at its center.

Step inside the EHS7, and you’ll be greeted by a stunning interior. A prominent 15.5-inch infotainment screen takes center stage, accompanied by a 6-inch instrument cluster. The SUV also features an advanced AI voice system, utilizing the latest Smart TTS technology from iFlytek.

Both the front and second-row seats are equipped with heating and ventilation functions, while the driver’s seat also offers a massage feature. All variants, except for the top-of-the-line 680 Ultra, feature synthetic leather upholstery. The ultra-premium 680 Ultra variant, on the other hand, combines genuine leather with synthetic leather for a truly luxurious experience.

In the Chinese market, the Hongqi EHS7 is offered with three battery options: 75 kWh, 85 kWh, and 111 kWh.

The smallest 75 kWh battery, developed by BYD FinDreams, offers an impressive maximum range of 520 kilometers. What’s more, it can be charged fully in just 25 minutes.

Opting for the 85 kWh battery, you’ll have a choice between a single-motor setup with a range of 605 kilometers or an all-wheel-drive version with a slightly lower range of 565 kilometers. Charging this battery to full capacity takes only 20 minutes.

The largest battery option, with a capacity of 111 kWh, is a true powerhouse. When paired with a single motor, it delivers a remarkable range of 730 kilometers. Even the dual-motor setup offers an impressive range of 680 kilometers. And similar to the other battery options, it can be fully charged in just 20 minutes.

All variants are equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 253 kW and delivering up to 450 Nm of torque. The dual-motor configurations add a front-mounted electric motor generating 202 kW and up to 306 Nm of torque.

The dual-motor setup enables the EHS7 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The single-motor variant with the 75 kWh battery achieves the same feat in 6.5 seconds, while the 85 kWh version does it in 6.3 seconds.

In terms of energy consumption, the single-motor configuration impresses with a frugal 15.7 kWh/100 km. The dual-motor setup, on the other hand, consumes slightly more energy at 16.9 kWh/100 km.
