In a remarkable feat, VinFast emerged as Vietnam’s best-selling automotive brand in 2024, delivering an impressive 87,000 electric vehicles to consumers.
While Hyundai initially led the market in vehicle sales during the first half of 2024, the Korean brand had to concede the top spot to VinFast by the year’s end. VinFast’s consecutive record-breaking sales months propelled them to become the best-selling automotive brand in Vietnam. Specifically, VinFast concluded 2024 with a total of 87,000 electric vehicles sold, equivalent to approximately 240 electric vehicles delivered daily, signifying a remarkable 149.6% growth compared to 2023.
The VF 5 SUV model was the golden goose for the VinFast brand, with over 32,000 units sold, also earning the title of Vietnam’s best-selling vehicle. Following closely behind was the VF 3 minicar, with sales surpassing 25,000 units, despite the company only starting deliveries five months ago.
Hyundai secured second place in the ranking of best-selling automotive brands for 2024, with sales of 67,168 vehicles, reflecting a 0.4% decline compared to the previous year. The Hyundai Accent accounted for over 23.8% of the brand’s sales, with 13,538 units sold. This model also secured a spot among the top 10 best-selling vehicles in the market.
Toyota claimed the third spot, with sales of passenger cars reaching 66,576 units, a substantial 16% increase compared to 2023. The Vios remained Toyota’s flagship model, with 14,210 vehicles sold, contributing to more than 21.3% of the brand’s total sales. The Vios also secured a position among the top 5 best-selling vehicles in Vietnam for 2024.
