With the ever-expanding electric vehicle market seeing the introduction of numerous new models, Tesla has decided to launch an upgraded version of its Model Y.

Named the Model Y Juniper, this sedan features significant upgrades both inside and out, including a squarer design and a modern interior that integrates more technology. The 2025 Model Y is also faster, smoother, and offers a greater range than its predecessor.

The Model Y Juniper boasts a redesigned look with split headlights and LED bars inspired by the Cybertruck. The front bumper resembles that of the Model 3 Highland but with added air intakes on both sides. Tesla has also boldly removed the logo from the sedan’s hood. At the rear, the car features new taillights with dark plastic trim, a duck-tail spoiler, and a sportier bumper.

The Tesla Model Y Juniper has dimensions of 4797 x 1920 x 1624 mm (LxWxH) and a wheelbase of 2890 mm. This new version is 47 mm longer in length.

Inside, the Model Y maintains its minimalist design but with upgraded features. It now includes an additional 8-inch screen for rear passengers, while the main screen has been upgraded from 15 inches to 15.4 inches. The seats have been redesigned for improved comfort, with added ventilation in the front and electrically adjustable rear seats that can be folded flat. The audio system has also been refreshed, delivering better sound quality.

Tesla claims that the Model Y is quieter thanks to sound-insulating glass, a retuned suspension, noise-reducing tires, and refined aerodynamics. The modified chassis design also allows for better steering feedback. Additionally, the new upgrades include Tesla’s FSD autonomous driving system.

The 2025 Tesla Model Y is currently offered in two variants: RWD and Long Range AWD. These versions offer an estimated range of 466 km and 551 km, respectively, which is an increase of 11 and 18 km over the previous models. The quick-charging capability remains the same at 250 kW, allowing the car to travel 266 km after just 15 minutes of charging.

While Tesla hasn’t disclosed the engine output, both versions are faster than before. The Model Y RWD can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, a full second quicker than its predecessor. The Long Range AWD, equipped with Acceleration Boost, achieves the same feat in 4.3 seconds, an improvement of 0.1 seconds.

A high-performance Model Y Performance variant is expected to launch later this year, delivering approximately 510 horsepower. This version will feature adaptive dampers, a special sport driving mode, and a more aggressive body kit.

The new Tesla Model Y is now available for order in select markets in the Asia-Pacific region, with deliveries expected to begin in April or May 2025. In Australia, the sedan is priced at $39,300 USD (997 million VND) for the base model and $45,500 USD (1.15 billion VND) for the Long Range AWD version, representing increases of $4,600 and $2,200, respectively, over the previous generation.
