Toyota Hilux of the ninth generation was recently spotted undergoing testing in Thailand, much to the excitement of many.

Based on the observed images, the KdesignAG channel released a sketch of the new Toyota Hilux, giving viewers a clearer idea of the upcoming vehicle.

The Toyota Hilux is likely to retain the old chassis as its exterior remains almost identical to the current Hilux generation. Minor tweaks have been made to the front, featuring a square grille and sleek headlights.

The rear end also sports new taillights and a redesigned rear wheel arch. The wheel design has been slightly refined as well.

The new Toyota Hilux will continue to use a diesel engine, similar to the previous generation, but it will be upgraded to meet Euro 5 and Euro 6 emissions standards. The V6 engine option will be discontinued, and it is unclear if a hybrid version will be offered.

As per the sketch, the interior of the Toyota Hilux is quite similar to the Tacoma sold in North America, as both vehicles share the same chassis. The cabin of the new Hilux is expected to receive only minor upgrades compared to its predecessor.

On December 23, 2024, Toyota quietly registered the trademark “HILUX TRAVO” with the Department of Intellectual Property in Thailand (DIP). This move indicates that the new Hilux generation will likely arrive in Southeast Asia in 2025. However, the name “Hilux Travo” might be exclusive to the Thai market.
