**Honda Unveils Plans for 2026: Upgrades, New Models, and a Return of a Classic**

Alongside its recent upgrades, Honda has announced plans to launch a new version of its small crossover HR-V for 2026.

Honda had a successful 2024, with sales up 11% thanks to a 16% increase in truck and SUV sales. Leading the charge for the Japanese brand was the CR-V, with sales of 402,791 units in 2024, an 11% growth. Riding on this success, Honda has announced the launch of an upgraded CR-V this year, and for the first time, the CUV will introduce a TrailSport version focused on off-road capabilities.

The sixth-generation Honda CR-V was introduced in 2023, and the facelift version will go on sale in 2026. Honda hasn’t provided specific details about the changes on the 2026 CR-V. However, enthusiasts expect refinements to the front and rear ends, along with enhanced technology and equipment in the cabin.

The vehicle’s powertrain options are expected to remain largely unchanged. It will continue to offer two choices: a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and a 2.0L hybrid engine generating 204 horsepower. A fuel-cell option was introduced for the 2025 model year, but it is only available in California.

The CR-V will also introduce the TrailSport version, which Honda says will feature a “bold exterior.” It’s unclear how many off-road features the CR-V TrailSport will have, but the latest Honda Passport TrailSport, set to go on sale in February, is the most capable TrailSport yet, boasting a customized suspension, General Grabber all-terrain tires, and a steel underbody guard.

Along with the refreshed CR-V, Honda has announced that the smaller HR-V will also receive an upgrade in 2025. This upgraded compact crossover will be launched in 2026, featuring style and technology improvements. Last but not least, Honda’s lineup will witness the return of the Prelude name on a new hybrid coupe before the end of 2025.
