Just before noon on January 28, 2025, the 29th day of the Lunar New Year, a hypercar enthusiast’s Porsche 918 Spyder was spotted cruising through the streets of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Interestingly, after being missing for 2 years, this Porsche 918 Spyder has been seen out and about a few times just within the past week.
The owner of this Porsche 918 Spyder also possesses a collection of other supercars and luxury vehicles, but it seems that on this last day of the year, they felt like taking out something special, and so the Porsche 918 Spyder was chosen for a spin.
This particular Porsche 918 Spyder sports a sleek gray paint job, with a two-part removable carbon fiber roof that can be conveniently stowed away in the front trunk when not in use.
This million-dollar hybrid supercar was produced in a limited run of just 918 units worldwide, each with its unique serial number, and priced from $845,000 at its debut, quickly appreciating to over $1 million just months after its release.
Despite being a decade old, the 918 Spyder still holds the title of Porsche’s most powerful car. It boasts a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 engine with two electric motors to deliver a staggering 881 horsepower and 1,280 Nm of torque.
This hybrid beast can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 345 km/h. The 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack allows the Porsche 918 Spyder to travel up to 19 kilometers solely on electric power.
