In folk belief, the number 5 occupies the center of the natural number sequence from 1 to 9, and is thus considered the most neutral, harmonious, and balanced number, containing both yin and yang. This number is deemed lucky, symbolizing good things, blessings, and prosperity, and representing the material world and the reproduction of the surrounding world. Consequently, quintuple 5 number plates are highly sought after, just like quintuple 8 and 9. In the past month, six quintuple 5 number plates were auctioned off, with a total winning bid of 12.03 billion VND. Specifically, the highest-priced plate, 89A-555.55 from Hung Yen province, sold for 3.185 billion VND, while the lowest-priced plate, 37K-555.55 from Nghe An province, went for 1.075 billion VND.
The past month also saw seven quintuple 3 number plates sold at high prices, totaling over 13 billion VND. The most expensive plate was from Kien Giang province, selling for 2.81 billion VND, while the cheapest plate, from An Giang province, went for 1.21 billion VND.
Quintuple 1, 2, and 4 number plates are usually less sought after, and their prices reflect that, reaching only 8.935 billion VND in the past month.
After more than a year of implementing number plate auctions, the two most expensive plates in the country are 30K-555.55 (14.489 billion VND) and 51K-888.88 (15.265 billion VND). The quintuple 5 number plate is currently adorning a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, while the quintuple 8 plate graces a legendary Toyota Crown.
