Nearly a week after its debut, the Suzuki Jimny Nomade has received over 50,000 orders.
The overwhelming response has led the Japanese automaker to temporarily halt orders due to concerns over meeting demand.
Initially, Suzuki planned to supply around 1,200 units per month to the Japanese market. However, with the current high volume of orders, customers may have to wait over three years for delivery.
The Jimny Nomade boasts a total length of 3,890 mm, a substantial 340 mm longer than the 3-door version. Its wheelbase has been extended to 2,590 mm, providing more spacious rear seating. The luggage compartment capacity has also been improved, making it more practical for daily use.
Design-wise, the Nomade doesn’t stray far from its 3-door counterpart. The exterior highlights include a Gun Metallic finish on the grille and new color options: Sizzling Red Metallic and Celestial Blue Pearl Metallic.
Inside, the Suzuki Jimny Nomade retains its sporty and rugged SUV character. To cater to rear-seat passengers, Suzuki has added rear power window controls and window trim.
Under the hood, the Suzuki Jimny Nomade is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 103 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4-wheel-drive system.
The Suzuki Jimny Nomade is priced at 2,651,000 yen (approximately 435 million VND) in the Japanese market.
